switch bells off

The parish church St. Martin got in the years 1948/49 a harmonic chime, consisting of five bells. The old bells got "cannon food" during the war. The poems on the new bells still testify of the horrors of the war only a short while ago erst, but also from the god-supported hope of enduring peace and new life.

Guardian angel (Des)

Out of deep poverty I was born,
In great pain I was built.
Where all World lost it's love,
Nevertheless belief built me up.

Belief in God I ring to all
In life's struggle an in death.
Where all values come down,
My voice rings towards God.

Many thousands gave
With holy embers.
The king of earth
Their life and blood.

Their blesses dying
Must be example for us,
The Lord of the worlds
devote the life

So I tell the pilgrim
With brazen mouth.
In life and dying
The way to heaven.

Where weapons noise and nations war now felt silent,
I ring with so much higher peal:
O form in God the round dance of peace;
Let law and love rule everywhere.

In ruins, misery and days filled with hatred
I was as carried out full of light.
Let me carry love into you hearts.
With bold courage nevertheless venture hope,
Build bridges of God between house and house,
That all world feels new life.

In the whole choir
I am the smallest only;
Bur I ring loudly
The angel's children track.

I ring cheerful
the young mortals in their being
And escort they also
Into their early grave.
